any good aoto or hardware store will sell heli coils for either metric or US sizes. Bring in the bolt that goes into the stipped thread to get the correct size, and make sure to get (unless you have ) the right size drill bit and tap. They are very simple to put in, just follow the instructions. Drill to the correct size, tap threads for the heli coil and screw the heli coil in breaking off the tab when done.

You will need the right tools for the job , but the main ones you need will come in a kit but they are very expensive, basically you bore out the thread with a tap to one size larger thread size, then insert the helicoil which then takes it back to the original size If you've only got a couple to do it would be cheaper to take it to a garage but in the long run a kit will work out a lot cheaper.

HELI COIL BRAND IS THE BEST. YOU CAN GET THEM AT ANY GOOD AUTO PARTS STORE. YOU WILL NEED A PROPER SIZE DRILL BIT. THE SIZE WILL BE MARKED ON THE PACKAGE. IF THE ENGINE IS ALUMINUM YOU MUST BE VERY CAREFUL TO DRILL THE PILOT HOLE STRAIGHT.
ALWAYS USE SOME RED LOCK TITE ON THE HELICOIL WHEN YOU INSTALL IT. PROPERLY DONE THE REPAIR IS STRONGER THAN EVER.

HOPE THIS HELPS

Any good ironmongers ,but you will need to know the size of the hole that needs repairing ,and then you will have to tap out the hole to the size for the helicoil to bring the hole back to the size you need

All good hardware places sell them. If you work on aluminum bike engines much, you'll get to know them very well. They're stronger than the original aluminum thread when you do them right. Some racers put them in new engines for increased reliability.

You can buy an assortment from most tool trucks like Snapon or Mac or get single sizes from most auto parts stores.

I would tap them oversize and use a oversize bolt. I don't trust them.
