If those are your 3 choices, I'd go with the Civic Si.

My neighbor has a 350Z and loves it, but he's stated repeatedly that's it's very impractical.

My other neighbor across the street also has an S2000 and loves that as well, but again it's his second car and he only uses it for weekend outtings and commuting to work. It's not practical for hauling luggage or passengers.

The Si will cost the least, save the most gas, be much cheaper to insure & maintain and be the most versatile. Take the money you save and invest it.

BMW 335i for sure, heads and shoulders above the rest, especially if "new" refers to the 07 twin-turbo. Also a sedan is always more usable than a coupe.

Mazda 6 series comparable to the Honda Civic but more passenger/luggage space. MazdaSpeed 6 if you can find a good used one.
MazdaSpeed 3 starts at $23,000 and will top out at over 155mph "limited" bone-stock, it's a hatch-back but it's a fast and "attractive yet not a cop-magnet" one.

The Civis Si for a compromise of all factors, the best overall.

The Nissan 350z if you're only going for looks and performance, although the 335i, even in sedan form, bests it.

And the S2000 if it's a convertible, although I'd take a Mazda Miata, especially a MazdaSpeed series model, or a Saturn Sky Roadster over the S2000.

If you have to pick one of those three, the 350Z wins hands down, it has good power throughout the rev range and handles well. The comment above about the s2000 blowing away American muscle is horseshit, s2000's don't make any hp or tq until 6000+ rpms... how oftern are you above 6000 rpms? Exactly.

Personally, i'd buy a used LS1 Camaro for around $10,000 (already faster than all the cars you mentioned), put in a TRex cam ($400), some good CNC'd heads ($2200), a 4000 tq converter ($500), and a 150 shot and go run 10's in the 1/4 while all the "tuners" who spend thousands more modding 4 bangers turn 13's (on a good day) and sound like weed eaters while doing it.

Either Hondas. I lived in Germany for 4 years. BMW's are garbage.... I dont know how they got a good reputation. I owned 3 over there.... junk!!!! I would get the Honda S2000

Si, out of the choices and only if it is bone stock. all the other choices are ridiculous in repair costs once the warranty runs out (I worked at nissan as a tech, 350z clutch jobs range from $600 - $1600 if you need a flywheel, which you will if you burn up the clutch as it is non-serviceable). Buy a good extended warranty that covers tires.

My choice for all around reliability is an xterra of any year preferably no less than 5 years old (due to upgraded components and new model re-design) and 2WD. Very few service/repair issues, and the only nissan I would consider buying out of any nissan model past or present.

If I was you I'd get a used BMW I think they are the best cars! I have a 1990 BMW that still has it's original everything and runs GREAT!!! It gets great gas mileage and there is plenty of room in side for when you have people with you. My BMW is a 525i I know I'll never buy anything else again!

I have a G35 Coupe and would say check it out. Same engine as the 350Z but I think it looks better. I would take the Z over the Hondas but they are all good rides.
