I don't want to do too much, I just want to stay healthy. Also, is it ok for me to work out at all during the first trimester when miscarriage is more likely

There are many safe exercises options for a woman in her pregnancy. Make sure it is all low-impact! Try walking, yoga or swimming. Those all would provide a low-impact but effective work-out. Go buy a copt of Fit Pregnancy. It gives you alot of healthy, safe suggestions. Good luck!

My doctor told me that whatever I did for a workout previously... keep it up! Do not stop working out just because you are pregnant, it will make your labor easier the more active you are.

If you didn't work out at all before pregnancy try and walk at least a 1/2 hour per day. Going shopping, raking, etc are also great workouts.

If you ran 3 miles/day before pregnancy keep it up! Whatever you do pregnancy is a great time to start working out, not stop!

Good luck!

i started working out when I got a positive. I had already worked out twice a week before that, but I stepped it up more once I became pregnant. As far as a light workout....try shallow prenatal water aerobics. You can work at your own pace and it doesnt put any weight or strain on your muscles b/c you are weightless in the water...however, it definitely gives you a workout. Plus, its a lot of fun! CONGRATS TO YOU!

Walking is and always will be, in my opinion, the best option to go with. It works your entire body, yet it is low impact.
