It could be a bad starter, a bad wire connection, or a bad neutral safety switch. It could also be a a bad starter solenoid, or a problem with the ignition switch.
You do not say what make, model, or year truck, so it is hard to give specific advice.

It's likely your starter. You may have a dead spot in it or a cable could have gone bad. I doubt it's your ignition since it still starts when it's push started.
Crawl underneath and make sure all of the connections are tight and solid. If they are, you can try hitting it with a hammer or something to see if that will shift the dead spot enough for it to start, but if you've driven the car the vibrations from it running should have moved it enough already.
You may also want to check your fuses and relays to see if all of them are good. You may have some kind of short in your electrical system that caused one to burn out.
If it's a stick shift, it may be the solenoid which works in conjunction with the starter. I've had that go before.
If in doubt, take it to Advance Auto or Auto Zone. They can occasionally be a lot of help.

sounds like a starter, hit it with a hammer and then try it, if still nothing check the ground and the power cable to the starter. But it really sounds like a starter issue.

Somebody needs to poke around the solenoid with a voltmeter to see if the ignition is getting 12V to the small terminal and if the solenoid is getting 12V to the big terminal that's attached to the starter.

Wires on the wrong solenoid post?
Be warned your clutch disc will wear out fast using it to start the engine...
