It sounds like society is forcing schizophrenia on today's workforce.

Your question jumped out at me, as I have just been wondering this same thing! My best answer for you is that I have no answer for this, but I am glad you asked, I look forward to what others have to say.

I wish you could give me a clearer example of what you mean: ie, how does your personality differ from what you think your job requires, and what is your job?

I just started in real estate and am wondering if I am going to have to become some arrogant a$$hole in order to make a living, which is totally NOT my personality. I don't have it in me to be "slick" like some people in this profession, and don't care to be overly aggressive, either. I still like to think I can do this job without changing, but sometimes I am not so sure.

This talk about personalities reminds me of an old Billy Joel song (late 70s, early 80s) about peole that wear two different faces.

There's the private face, and there's the face that you let everyone else see.

Pursue your chosen career field, just be careful to display trustworthiness and reliability. Don't stress over the schizo co-workers.
