Yes Gerrard should play in the middle.
In reference to Lampard, he shouldnt play at all. when was the last time he had a good game for England? people go on about his great goalscoring prowess but whe was his last goal for England? and the reason Gerrard hasnt played brilliantly for England is because Lampard is in his position and getting in his way. Gerrard could score twice the goals Lampar scored if he played with Hargreaves.

Gerrard is the best centre midfielder in the world and England play him on the right hand side what a waste of a player of course he should be in the middle he scores goals, great passes no douth he should be in the middle as for lampard play him on the right you never know he could be good in that position

I'd say for England's midfield their strongest four would have to be Gerrard and Joe Cole on the wings with lampard and Hargreaves in the centre. Of course it depends on who the strikers are but generally England play strikers that prefer more centred play so the four I suggested in midfield would back this up.
