I know a lot of people on here report others, especially in the political section. I’ve been reported for things that don’t make sense like chatting when I don’t chat. I don’t report anyone for stating their opinion, but I would report for vulgar profanity and racial slurs. The rest of the guidelines I could care less about because it is all in fun. What do you report abuse over?

I have been actively responding to my meritless violation notices. There are a few different methods...

You can post on the forum. You can get your points back when they know you are the victim of abuse.

I believe Yahoo is really working on this problem, and we should give them a chance to fix it.

And to answer your question, I think the only reporting categories in Politics should be Epithets & Slurs, and User Harrassment.

It's Politics, people, if you cannot out-argue someone without reporting their different view, give up Politics!

Beware the spammers and trolls. They don't have a life, and have nothing better to do than spit and insult people. Plus, it would appear that Yahoo is somewhat capricious when it comes to what they delete and what they dont.

I do believe they are more diligent recently, giving more attention to spammers and trolls in the Politics section.

From what I've seen from Yahoo Abuse responses, there are a LOT of actual living, breathing humans working behind the scenes, but it's a big job.

You take a bad hit here and there, but if you are diligent in reporting the real spammers and trolls, they'll take a bigger hit than you. Accounts do get deleted.

And..........make note ........if someone actually posts something that is clearly threatening, action can be taken. Threats - whether in print or on the phone - are totally illegal.

I try to stay away from the report abuse button but a lot of the flaming liberals on here just can't resist it. If they can't mount a good argument, they report you for non-existant abuse, and the Yahoo Gestapo just pounds you without checking. Have you ever looked at the Forum section about wrongful violations & suspensions? It happens a lot

I've reported a couple of people for personal insults, but blatant racists get the flag, too.
