Why do you stay with your wife if you are not happy in your marriage?

Ever heard of making a lifetime commitment despite all odds? That is what marriage is about. If you can't hack it, then don't get married. You can choose to remain shallow & without character, but choosing to stay & have victory over all is without a doubt what makes life worth while. Why not stay?

This is a great question that I ask myself everyday...why do I stay in this marriage when I'm miserable??? For me, it was a few reasons. I truely love my wife, but I'm not in love with her anymore. There's always the hope of getting that feeling back. Also because I love her, I don't want to cause her the pain of going through a divorce.
The selfish reason is because you wonder about the unknown. You may choose to stay in a bad relationship because it's better than going to the unknown.
After a year and half of a miserable marriage, we are finally facing divorce and I think I will be much happier in the end.

I'm happy, but I'd imagine those that aren't and still stay could be for many reasons
1) While not happy, may not want to hurt her.
2) Belief that he CAN be happy, just needs work.
3) Fear or being alone. Unhappy better that alone type thing.
4) Ever seen the financial effects of some divorces????
Again, I'm happy in my marriage (very happy) so I'm just guessing.

Men don't stay with their wife if they are not happy,they would rather pay alimony and child support for their freedom. Men are logical thinker. If a man tells me his baloneys that he is not happy in his marriage,,he is being persecuted by his terror wife. It is clear as a crystal that he wants to get inside my THONGS for nothing,what he'll get is my killer mouth in a rapid fire.

I'm not a man but I'll venture a guess from personal experience... Men are lazy, they don't want to have to start all over with someone else but would prefer to just cheat on the side! Who will cook for them and do their laundry and run their errands, etc?

I think that many men stay so they do not wake up on their birthday alone or holidays ALONE- they do not have the confidence to leave- so they basically justify it by seeing how the girl is benefitting while they use other means to satisfy their voids

it is easier to stay and live your own life then to lose everything you own. Why would a woman stay with a man that she can;t make happy ?

Great, another woman probably being lied to by some married man about how "unhappy" he is or how "his wife just doesn't understand him"......keep lying to yourself! LOL!
