i have special skills i can sing (what im told by people) and i can do lots of sports in class plays and stuff im usully pretty good how can i prepare to be an actor im almost 14 and i live in california (san jose) i heard a couple of days ago on the radio there waz a place to audion should i try out?? or can u list some diffrent try outs for a movie or something in my area thanx

Hm... I don't know about auditions in your area, but I'd say that you should try out for just about anything that you can. Remember that the person they pick is usually chosen from a giant amount of auditioners.
I'd say you should also look into getting an agent if you're serious about this. That way you'll have the chance to audition for many different parts.
I don't know how useful that'll be, but I hope it helps. I don't know too much about showbiz, and you got some other great suggestions too, which you should definitely look into. Hope you find the success you're looking for!

Acting is very competitive-less than a few % of SAG members make a living full-time from acting. This is because there are no formal requirements to act-you don't need a degree, or start-up money. I would suggest taking acting classes and becoming involved with your local theatre or playhouse. Most successful actors have formal training. Also, dance classes and voice lessons can help. My room-mate in college went on to do a lot of acting and was pretty successful-John Philbin on imdb.com if you look. Hard work and luck is the answer-because a zillion people are vying for the few parts available, many of them with way more experience and connections than you have.

go to open casting calls. if anything work as an extra so you can see what its actually like to be on set...you may not like it at all...

i forgot to add- bring a parent along as they will definately need to sign paperwork.
