I'm a junior in high school, and I am looking into where I am going in terms of colleges and universities, specifically majoring in civil engineering. I have a 3.35 GPA, and I have yet to take the SAT Reasoning Test in May 2007. So, using my current GPA as a guide, can anyone find a college or university that can I work with? I would like a list of between 20 to 30 colleges, and if anyone mentioned at least one, it would be great! Thanks!!!

I went to Southern Illinois University Carbondale. This school isn't the party school it's made out to be (it used to be from the 60s to 80s, but really it's not anymore). I knew many parents of friends who refused to let their kids go their (we graduated high school almost 10 years ago) because of the reputation. I'm just saying this in case your parents bring up this point in saying they don't want you to go there. Anyway, SIUC has a pretty good civil engineering program. I knew two guys in college who were C.E. graduate students at the time. They now have some pretty sweet jobs in the Chicago suburbs.

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has an excellent engineering program. You may need to bring up your GPA though. Check with your counselor to see what schools s/he thinks will be good for you. S/he'll help you come up with a list of "reach" schools (colleges that may be hard for you to get in to, but not impossible) as well as a list of "safe" schools (colleges that you will definitely get into).
Good luck! :)
