Hi. They won't. Their evolutionary path is different which is why they are what they are. They will evolve (or become extinct) as time moves on. There will still be a planet Earth in a billion or more years. Even if a Margita Singh comes along.

Modern day monkeys will evolve into future monkeys, better adapted to future conditions. Maybe some will develop skin flaps to help them jump between trees and become so distinctive that they will be a new family of flying mammals, who knows? More likely we will manage to kill them all off long before then.

By "monkeys" I assume you mean chimps? If so, then the answer is ... NEVER. They may be mammals and they may share some similar characteristics but between the chimpanzee and the ape, the ape is a close match.

May as well say that bears will evolve into humans.

Different species, folks. They may be mammals, and can walk upright, and is capable of independent thought, but that does not make them closer to homo sapiens.

How long before people realise that monkeys did not (-and will not) evolve into humans?... monkeys, apes and humans share a common ancestor which had some of the characteristics of each.

Evolution isn't directed, so they may never evolve into humans or anything remotely humanlike. Remember, dinosaurs were around for more than a hundred million years, and they never evolved humanlike intelligence.

They won't--we don't share the same characteristics. Evolving is changing to fit the environment (simplified!), and so while we could grow longer or shorter noses, arms, etc., we don't become animals, and they don't become us.
