"WASHINGTON - President Bush said Wednesday he'll submit a proposal to balance the budget in five years and exhorted Congress to "end the dead of night process" of quietly tucking expensive pet projects into spending bills.

"This budget will restrain spending while setting priorities," Bush in a statement he delivered in the Rose Garden after meeting with his Cabinet at the White House."

He didn't before, why would anybody think he would with an R congress. He's doing it now because it is not HIS party's pork.

The biggest pork barrel spending is in Iraq to the tune of 2 billion a month.

The only way he is going to be able to balance the budget is by raiding social security.......again.

It makes you wonder, why didn't he attempt this during his first term? It should be an interesting two years. Also, watch for a immigration reform bill (amnesty) to be ushered in soon. We've been duped.
