The mucus plug will come out when your cervix starts getting thinner and dilates a little. It will be a glob of mucus and can range in color from pink, borwn, white, clear, yellow, or any mix. You may not even know when you lose it but most women see some of it on the toilet paper or their panties. Losing the mucus plug in no way indicates when labor will begin and there's no way to know when you will be ready. Good luck to you and your baby!

The mucus plug will come out...it just depends on if you notice it or not. When mine came out I had to wipe like 4 times and it looked like slime on the toilet paper. That was just me.
If you are ready to go in or not will depend on how far if any you are dialated. You can be dialated to a 1 - 3 for weeks with no signs. If that is happening to you...GREAT NEWS...you are making it thorough the first stages of labor with no/little pain.
Have you taken a lamaze class? You might want to look into one if you haven't. They teach you this stuff...

Every woman is different I'm 38 weeks now and have not lost my mucus plug. It doesn't always come out as a big chunk of mucus some women lose their plug gradually over days, some don't lose it at all until labor. Good luck your almost there!

it varies with each person. most of the time, the plug will come out on its own, but you may not notice it. some women notice it, while others dont. it usually looks like a blob of slime or mucous (duh) with a pink tinge to it. but it could be brownish, yellow, or so on. its not bloody show. you can lose your mucous plug at any time, and it does not signal the beginning of labor. i'm a week over due and i lost my plug way back when i was at 28 weeks. i just started dilating within the passed few days, and i'm only 1 cm right now. i'll most likely be induced monday.
at 36 1/2 weeks, you could be starting to dilate, but its unlikely. a baby is considered full term at 37 weeks, and like i said every women is different. its hard telling when you could go into labor. all you can do really is see what the dr tells you, or wait for labor to begin. hope this helped. congrats and good luck for you and your baby!

Some women don't even notice it. I didn't really notice mine, but I was looking for it so, I did see a little bit of bloody mucusy stuff like the day before I had her. I was 39 weeks when I gave birth. Some women can pass that and not go into labor for weeks. Don't worry, your baby is coming. Not too long now. I feel for ya! I was just there w/ya a few months ago. I don't envy those last few months.

If I remember correctly I remember the mucus plug being a bloody blob. Not that much but enough to know that It was the bloody show.
Noone will be able to tell you if you are ready. Only your baby will be the first to know. he ehe.. Good luck. the lil one will come when he/she is ready. so be patient and get all the sleep you can get now.

Honestly I don't remember ever losing my mucus plug and I have been pregnant three times.
As for being ready I was induced at 37 weeks with my first, went into natural laber at 37 weeks with my second and with my third went into labor at 38 weeks. You just never know. at 37 weeks your baby is full term.
