No, in actual fact more men are victims of domestic violence than women

No, men can be the victim of domestic violence, if you balance the numbers properly. At about a ten to one ratio; that is one man for every ten women assaulted. To say anything else is ridiculous! The facts are the facts and no amount of ideological pandering is going to change them. I have seen sheer nonsense on this site lately. All ideology purporting a large female violence problem. Sounds like " Oprah " journalism to me. Make a non-issue into something to talk about. I am not saying that SOME women are not capable of violence, I am saying that even among themselves, they are not very " good " at it. Look at the felon in prison numbers. Violent vs non-violent female prisoners. This is the real world, not Hollywood, so I am wondering if anyone answering to these type questions has ever experienced real violence. From some of the advocates to this new ideological ax being ground; I think not!

NO NO NO...Women, children and MEN can all be victims of domestic violence. I don't know the statistics, but I think women report it more than a man would. Some men I know are ingrained with,"do NOT hit a woman, not matter what." Men are less apt to file charges for fear of ridicule. I know that men are abused too.

That's a wrong assumption and repeating it all the time does not make it more true. Women are much more often the victims of domestic abuse, the ratio is about 10-2. Every counsellor, every doctor and all recent statistics confirm this. So relax, your risk of getting beaten up by a woman is low and common sense should tell you the same.

No, there are a lot of men that are abused and victims of domestic violence. But the reason why it looks like its more women than men is because men feel shame surrounding it and usually don't report the abuse. There are many women out there that are violent towards their partner and the man deals with it because most men are raised to think that they are such "MEN" that this could never happen to them.

Abuse and violence against another person is wrong and there are a lot of men and women who are not reporting their abuse. They need to.

Women are by no means the only victims of domestic violence.

To begin with, CHILDREN are victims of domestic violence. This has specifically been ommitted from feminist lobbying because "it might take away the focus from women" (and also because women commit the most child abuse ssshhh).

Men are victims of women just as often, if not more as found by domestic violence academia.

Feminists continue to deny this and hold up things like arrest statistics (even in the case of mandatory arrest laws), which merely proves that women demand men be arrested more often and reinforces the status quo of violence against men by women being ignored.

Apparently we are supposed to suck it down and women's violence towards men has nothing to do with men's violence towards women. (Note: Since feminist involvement in DV there has been no reduction in the rate, so for some reason their approach fails).

If you look at television advertising or at the behaviour of couples in *public*, you will see plenty of examples of women assaulting men, pushing, hitting with something etc. which would shock everyone if it was the man doing it to the woman.

In public I see things like this at least once a fortnight. People completely ignore it, like it didn't happen. I see this on television with FAR greater frequency. In this case it is supposedly funny.

I don't agree that men are victims as much as women. I think the entire family are victims when there is violence in the home.
Try to see if from the view of children.

It's more common for women to be victims of domestic violence, i mean anything is possible and its not impossible for a man to be the one getting beat up but i think in both cases it's really sad but if a man is getting beat up by his wife or girlfriend and can't defend himself he really has a problem. It's wrong regardless.

Absolutely not. I've personally seen women abusing their spouses. This works because 1) many men were brought up not to hit women and 2) many women have now empowered themselves by protecting themselves and learning karate, etc.
The bad news is that some, just like men, abuse it.

Are there enough answers for those men who keep repeating this line over and over...

Do you now beleive that women (and more notably "feminists") do not think that it is only women who get abused by thier partners?

Or will you just ignore this and keep spouting on about how feminists don't beleive this? Using it as ammunition to keep feminists in their place.

EDIT: Thank you robedzombie.. That is usually the reason why men do not get seen in society generally as the victim. It's SOCIETIES attitudes (made up by 50% MEN) and the stigma atached to being beaten by a woman that is both the reason why it goes unreported AND why when it is it isn't taken seriously. It's nothing to do with feminism and everything to do with gender perception. That goes for BOTH men and women. So, instead of blaming all societies ills on feminists, why not look at the real problems and do something about it. Try changing attitudes yourselves instead of sneering at the successes woman have had over the changing of attitudes towards women. Your energies and abilities will be better placed there trying to improve men's deals in life than it will bitterly attacking what feminists do.
