The media may not "control" our politicians, but they are definitely a huge influence.
Most politicians don't stand for anything these days. They stick their fingers into the wind every day to see how they should vote on a topic. If that's the way the country was to be run, we wouldn't need politicians and would simply vote on each and every bill ourselves.
We elect politicians because they are supposed to be spending their time finding out the details of the bills so that they can make an informed decision.
Unfortunately, all they worry about is getting re-elected, so they do whatever seems to be popular that day.

YES! Thank you! It is the media that controls the politicians, NOT the politicians that control the media. And, politicians are so concerned with their re-elections that they do not want to do or say anything that will be spun negatively. Therefore, they hold back from speaking their mind, or acting with their own conviction for fear of being attacked by the media.

Our media is owned.....it's pure propaganda. But people will claim the media is liberal when it's more misleading than anything. Most americans are in the dark and think they are informed when they have no idea whats going on in this country.

Yup, people are focus on their looks but the media should have some power so the citizens can watch their leaders. There should be a limit on exposure, citizens must give their leaders some personal space, http://www.voteprimous.com

Yes. With carrots and sticks. Those grandiose, self aggrandizing, bellowing bags of hot air love being in the spotlight and will do anything for puff pieces--including sell us out to the UN.
