Why do so many people (mostly people in America) take the mick out of Matt Damon? i.e. as if he is thick - am I missing something? Where did it start? Thanks X X

It started with the film Team America where Matt Damon's puppet was particularly stupid for some reason, it was very funny though.

The puppet Trey Parker and Matt Stone made for the movie didn't turn out right; they said it looked mentally deficient, hence Matt Damon's behaviour in the film.

I think Matt Damon is very attractive, but I'm not for sure about his real character as an individual.

It's possibly caused by a lot of people jealous about his success - remember he got the oscar for best screenplay for Good Will Hunting in 1997.
I thought he was superb in the Departed and thats looks to be in line for several more gongs at the oscars this year.

Met him in Rome whilst Oceans 2 was being filmed. Came across as a very pleasant, witty person. Maybe he is toooo intelligent for some people to understand!

Probably because he's blonde, and very good looking.
He's obviously not stupid, as the script to 'Good Will Hunting' testifies.
