2 days before i went into labor, i could feel the baby's head starting to come out. i couldnt' sit upright for fear of smushing her head. i had to lean on my side of the hip. when labor started, it was hardly noticeable, like mild menstrual cramps that only lasted a few seconds. but it gets MUCH WORSE! i also had to relieve my bowels frequently once labor started.

Sometimes the baby will settle down very low prior to the onset of labor. Also, a woman usually starts to lose her memebrane (cervical plug). This is a thick, mucus like plug that sometime has a little blood.

baby drops, practice contractions become more frequent, mucus plug, water breaks, contractions every 5 minutes for 1 hour.
