1-2 hours a day is enough. The reason it is so important to get off the computer is because children need to develop social skills. 13 years old is an important time to learn to comunicate with other friends his age, girls and other adults. Being on the computer steals this time away.being onb the computer might help him cope with your moe but it is not helping him make new friends.

welcome to the computer age. I have a 13 year old daughter and I limit her time on the computer to an hour per day on school days. four hours maximum on weekends. I had to do this as she did get pretty bad with the computer and would not go outside or have any other interests. Finally I pulled the plug on the computer for 4 months. Now she is active again and is involved in other things. The computer is back on and she is more responsible and her grades did come back up.

TV or Computer using for games are no good more than 2 hours / day.
Because they lack of exercise and most of sight problems occur while looking at monitor all the time.

chatting or browsing internet does not count under this time. ONly playing time.

Set a limit.

1 to 2 hours a day for homework and some fun. Thats it. Unplugg it if you have to. Keep the PC in the kitchen or family room, not in his bedroom.

You bought it, you control it.

Take the computer away........ Buy him a baseball glove, start a garden in your yard, build a hot-rod. Golf is a great game. Just do something,,,,, make him move or watch him become a lazy fatass!
