They will be #1. Almost all of the defense is coming back. Booty has a year of game experience. Even with Smith and Jarrett leaving they have Turner and Davis both excellent weapons plus a handful of top wide receiver recruits. The running backs were all inexperienced and will only get better. This will be the opposite of last season when almost all the juniors left, now almost all are staying.

USC should make it to the title game next year if they play up to potential. Easy #1 preseason.

Yes, if Dwayne Jarrett returns. I don't think that needs further explanation.

If not, I still say yes. At least pre-season #1. USC proved they can play with the Michigan stomping. They are returning a lot of key players: save Steve Smith and Dwayne Jarrett. They will need someone to step up on offense, but Booty, who's been questionable all year, just proved he can step it up.

Plus, we know you can count on excellent recruits.

Ohio State is losing their Heisman-winning quarterback. And well, we just don't know how the other teams are going to look.

So, USC is the preseason #1.

Not if Ohio State wins. Possibly if Florida wins but I doubt it. Whoever wins this game will be number 1.
