Think I may be pregnant, have had a lot of symptoms, but couldn't get a straight answer from home tests so I went to doctors.

Explained everything including symptoms, but doctor dismissed my worries out of hand and focused on the stomach cramps i said i was having - linked it to a stomach bug I had a while back and gave me tablets, but the symptoms I have now are different to then. Should I see another doctor about it?

Need to know because I am supposed to be on cholestral tablets but should not take them if I'm pregnant, so I'm not really sure what to do now?

Hope someone can advise me.

Go see another doctor, that would worry me to know that my doctor seemed to dissmiss the fact that i could be pregnant, i would go see another doctor and demand a test or some sort of test to find out if i were pregnant and to find out what could be causing the pain not just throw you back on tablets that to me is "i cant be bothered to do much work and look into your symptoms so lets just give her some tablets" i would be disgusted if my doctor did that.

Go back to another dr ASAP! pregnancy is not something to mess around with lightly.

go and see a different doctor, possibly a woman who may be more sympathetic. What do u mean by you couldn't get a straight answer out of home tests? they are usually pretty accurate. Try the digital type as there supposed to be more accurate. But failing that go back the docs and demand a second opinion, you dont want to risk your own or a possible child's life too. The doctor should have done a pregnancy test, if he didn't he could be very wrong. definitely go back and see someone else. good luck!

I understand your problem, why don't you go back to the Doctors and ask to see another Doctor. Explain what has happened and your fears and could the Doctor arrange for a blood test to see if your pregnant. The blood test results come back far quicker. Good luck and hopes all works out as you would like.

Did you or your doctor administer a home, or lab pregnancy test?

I can only assume that most doctors deal with pregnancy enough to be confident in their diagnosis.

Sounds to me like you are trying to make the diagnosis fit your symptoms, rather then using the symptoms to make a diagnosis.

Your doctor could be wrong, but its unlikely...in any case you will be sure if you are correct in 30-60 days.

well if you are not satisfied with your dr and his/her opinion of you and your possible condition then I absolutely would go to another dr. Also, I would hold off on taking those cholestral tablets until you know for sure.

good luck

When in doubt see another doctor. Doctors aren't infallible, on the contrary. They make mistakes all the time! Get a second opinion.

You can always go to Planned Parenthood for a no or low-cost pregnancy test to get that second opinion on whether you are pregnant or not.

You could always call NHS direct on 08454647 - they will be better placed to tell you if you need a second opinion :)
