If you want to check on the status of a position you're applying for, how do you ask the question if they are still reviewing you as a prospect? I spoke with the supervisor of the Dept. I will be working in at the beginning of December. She called me back & ask to fax my resume over, and was delight that I called to let them know I was available. But now it is January & I have not heard from the company. I want to call them, but not sure what to say.

Just curious on how to ask the question, if I'm still a prospect & the status of everything?

~~I did not want to sound over anxious, but I really need the job....~~

Hello This is Dawn Walker, I am inquiring on the status of my application and resume.
Keep it short and professional.

I would call and ask to speak to the Supervisor again, and just politely say that your are following up with a resume you sent over in Dec and to make sure they received it, ask if there were any problems, and if not, if there are currently any positions available and if not, if they have a prospect as to when a position may be opening. You are just another applicant to them - just remember the squeakie wheel gets the oil first!!! GOOD LUCK!

Just call the supervisor you spoke to and simply ask if she's hired anyone or made a decision regarding the position you applied for.
