you gotta buy a complete xenon kit that includes 2 bulbs, 2 ballasts and 2 starters. the bulbs need 85,000 volts to vaporize the fluid to make that bright "blue" light output (it is really closer to true white light) look on ebay and Be prepared to spend at least $500 on a decent kit. The cheap-o's will melt your headlights. get a bulb with a color temp of 6000k - 8000k. anything else will look cheap. I don't know if the cougar has projector lamps but it is highly suggested to buy aftermarket lamps that support xenons and that are projector types, else you will blind oncoming traffic (if you really care at all). get the right socket type bulb (9006, 9007, h4, etc) so that installation is easy and ask a lot of questions when buying. try to avoid used european/ japanese oem take offs as they are stolen and use d2s/d2r type bulbs which are too long for most headlamps and won't fit without an adapter anyway. just don't buy cheap $14 blue light bulbs. a xenon kit is the only way to go.

HID is big $$$$ get fake blue purple tint bulbs. HID is better NOT reverse engineered due to hefty power demands of HID power supply..

man who would spend $1000 on headlights??? That is a waste.... I would just stay with the blue halogen... unless you want to throw your money in a basket and burn it......
