No. Cowher can't coach anywhere this year unless it is for the Steelers or his one year contract is 'bought out' by another team. I truly think that he is going to take some time off, probably just a year
and come back in 2008. I can see him going to Panthers should John Fox have another dismal season.

I don't think so. If he quits Pittsburgh he will most likely not coach next year. I wouldn't think he is right for the Dolphins anyway.
I have no suggestions as to who a good coach may be, Atlanta and Arizona need new coaches also. Oakland should hire a new one.
What about Shuler? :)

I think if he leaves pittsburgh it will be to retire period....if he still has the passion to coach burning in him is the real question, he loves pittsburgh the city and the town so probably not...however both the coordinators in Pittsburgh have been given the freedom to look for better jobs elsewhere

although i'm a south florida resident but not really caring for the dolphins, i'd actually like to see that happen. the real question is, though, who would coach the steelers?

I think if Cowher does leave, he'll hang the "GONE FISHIN'" sign on his door, at least for a couple of years.

Miami seems to want to go after a "name" for a coach, which isn't always gold (Saban, Johnson, etc). Andy Reid wasn't a "name" when he landed in Philly, and they've done pretty damn well.

No he won't. He retired and moved his relatives to Carolina. he's been waiting on the possibility to trainer there, if not close to to there. i don't think of the expenses are an selection for Cowher. he's exceeded on too many extra helpful possibilities to choose the expenses. Cowher is in tweak the group mode, not rebuild a franchise mode.

That is not a bad option now that you mentioned it. There are other teams that could use him though. Look at the Lions, Cardinals, hell even the Niners could use him.

If the Dolphins pay him $8M per year it would be highly probable.

Cowher receives $4M per year.
