If you save the inner child, save her from yourself. Let your outer self blow bubbles, giggle at fart jokes, hug that teddy bear, have ice cream for breakfast..because thats what keeps the bitterness of age out, experiencing life & accepting that everything has a positive side.

If you can return to innocence while you're much older....then you will have truly mastered this concept called life. Only the bitter have ever tried to subdue others in search for things on the outside to find fullment. The inner child that lived has always searched inwards and always won. Keep your heart open. Don't worry about the assholes...they'll fizzle out of existence.

we (amazingly wonderful?) leos are not called puer aeternus for nothing ;-) many of us maintain the inner child to, perhaps, too great a degree since it is who we are, essentially. while we have to, of course, be responsible, mature, etc. in order to deal with the "realities " of life, we can turn very silly and playful at a moment's notice. this culture is , generally, in the northern european tradition? very work/production oriented, and quite "left brained", and "very serious". those who have lost the ability to "recreate", and to be relaxed and creative, are only barely "human" in the view of many. it's best to be as balanced as possible, and to be able to operate from/in many "dimensions" as part of one's time here on earth. being one dimensional should be a "criminal offense" ;-) if, for no other reason, the fact that such a way of being tends to bring some of us "down" on a regular basis, (if we let it).

Unfortunately, when reality kicks in and you have to support a family, most of the times the inner child is growing up. You still can be a child at heart, except you have a lot more responsibilities.

The inner child is the reason that Liberals are agents of the right wing. Only the born-rich Liberals count. As children, they were brainwashed to hate the majority. They still keep that bossy, undemocratic snobbery even after they reject their fathers' class, so, instinctively, whatever they do winds up benefiting their fathers' class.

I think it's all about outlook. Most of us lose our inner child by stifling those qualities you've mentioned: imagination, wonder, and curiousity. If you allow them to remain with you, you'll always feel young at heart.

Inner child is a figment or period in which Consciosness of a Child have a connection with the God . Quality you mentioned above and many more indicate a purity of not knowing, or of that which adult "knows" and concluded...That is innocence mentioned in many scriptures of an old.Consciousness and a Mind of a child is clear of pollutions of so-called "knowledge" but already containing certain teachings and development out of parental control.... Inner child is lack of a wisdom, which comes out of making, recognizing and correcting his own mistakes while becoming an adult , eventually without assistance of surrounding advices. Inner child being an adult (it is correct and literal meaning) having an opportunity to obtain wisdom and drop" knowlede created out of it beliefs, that which makes adult adult, for wisdom is not a collection of knowledge but Divine quality which required recognition and embodiment. We cannot save inner child without sacrifising a created 'adult" whom based on its knowledge experiences and beliefs adults counts on. One or another...That transformation back is not happening overnight, but required deep understanding and willful acceptance of a Process...Alzheimer's may well be another side of it. Dropping skin of adult and embody inner child without obtained wisdom...Alzheimer represents absence of knowledge experiences and beliefs, only unbridged fragments of memories which eventually fading away too. It had been said that we are eternal child..That would be considered as enormous Truth if we allow ourselves to know who we really are. Adulthood is a created by inner child entity which inner child willing to embody, remember our wishes to become adult, while being a child?.Now we can assume that for a child wishes is granted quite inevitably..Luck of wisdom makes its creation, adult, take over child and burry him deep within , isolate him from being surfaced by walls of all kind of knowledge and beliefs

If I ever tried to lose my inner child, he would throw a temper tantrum and hold his breath until he turned blue.
