Does anyone else think its BS that He won rookie of the year?? He is pretty good, but his numbers arent great for a quarterback, even amongst rookies..and What about McNeil in San Diego?? LT didnt block for himself you know. Or Marques Colston?? he broke many rookie records even in an offense thats full of talent.

See this is what I really hate...not just in the case of Vince Young, I hate tom Brady for this reason too....Youngs numbers are not at all Impressive, and he is not the reason they won. He has talent no doubt about it. But he is not the reason they won..Thats exactly what I hate the QB always gets credit no matter who the real reason for winning is. Even among rookie QB Leinharts numbers are better and he had alot more attention on him all year long and go ahead say thats because Vince had a better line and team around him...that will just prove my point...I dont even think Young was the team MVP Pacman Jones played great defense and Was a special teams stud

Adam - Way to say it man!
What about that backup running back for the Jacksonville Jags? Why wasn't his name mentioned? He ran for over 1K yards, returned kickoffs, punts, someofwhich for touchdowns.
Great points!

I would say Vince young should be rookie of the year. He is an exceptional player, and has the ability to make his whole team better. The Defense as well as the offense. he is also a great leader, and is making the same plays he did when he was in college. Without young the titans would not be 8-7, but even without Maurice Jones, who is clearly having the best season out of all the rookie backs, Jacksonville would still be 8-7. For a rookie QB to come in on a team such as tennessee who lack a lot of talanted players and do what Young has done, is truley amazing.

I believe Colston should have won it, and probably would have won it easily had he not missed a couple of games. The voters should not have held that against him because Young didn't play every game either. Young made many rookie mistakes and did not win by himself. Just look at the Jaguars game. He didn't do anything. The defense won that game with three touchdowns. I knew this was going to happen but I strongly disagree. I would have given Colston a slight edge over Jones-Drew and McNeill because he was a 7th round pick and nobody thought he would do what he did.

I think it's a close call between Young and Colston, but Young should get the nod. He willed the Titans to the edge of the playoffs this season. Colston's contributions were great, but Young meant more to the Titans than Colston did to the Saints.
All I know is that Texans fans are probably on suicide watch right about now.

vince young deserved all of that. he turned an 0-5 tennessee team to 8-8. he broke the record for the most rushing yards by a rookie QB, most rushing TDs, most passing TDs (this year), and he will carry the titans to the superbowl trophy in the next 5 years.
what u r saying is a bunch of bullsh*t

yea but vince young single handly brought the titans back and won games for them, yea mcneil had some nice blocks, and colston some nice catches but anytime a QB has a chance at it he wil win it, cause he is the main guy on the field everyone looks at hence the nickname of a QB, as the field general

"my point is hes not the reason they won, stats like his dont win a game"
first off, stats dont win games anyway, 2nd then what is the reason the titans were 0-5 without him and 8-3 with him? was it the worst defense in football? or the average special teams? maybe the zero probowlers on offense?
numbers arent everything, quite living in the sportcenter and fantasy football world, vince is the best offensive rookie in the nfl

I don't think he deserved it at all!!
We'll see how long he makes it next year when teams figure him out like they did Vick. You take Young out of the running aspect of his game, he'd be a serviceable back QB.

Young played half the year really. He wouldn't have received my vote, not even top 3. ROY should easily be Maurice Jones-Drew, then Colston.
