Any USB will fit, but I recommend you, you buy a PCI card with multiple USB ports, they work the same as the one you lost.

USB ports Are famous for being generic. You can most likely go out and get a new one from a computer store.

You should look at your computer manufacturer's website. It may have some answers to your question. If it doesn't, then you can get a USB hub(s) and connect it to your working USB port(s) and work that way, but if you don't want to do that, you have to find one that "fits" your machine. Otherwise it will stick out, etc.
If you are still having trouble, I can be reached at kevin__-chen@yahoo.com. And yes, there are two underscores (_).

You may need another motherboard. If it burnt up on the board, something else will go wrong soon.
You can get an adapter card for around 10-20 bucks if you have an open PCI or PCI express slot. Check Yahoo Shopping.

I would say worry less about your USB posts and look into your mobo, before it burns out something else or completely. (if its onboard USB's)

well depends on wat u hav right now
if u hav on-board USB ports, u probabaly cant replace them
so i prefer to go out and buy an USB ports PCI card
u just hav to slide it into 1 of ur PCI slots
