The Approved code of Practice for the Workplace regulations says that the temperature in all workrooms inside buildings shall be reasonably comfortable during working hours without the need to wear special clothing.
The minimum temperature in workrooms should normally be at least 16oC unless much of the work involves severe physical effort in which case the temperature should be at least 13 oC.
The temperature of 16o should be reached within an hour of starting work.

16oC = 61oF if that's easier for you.

Go to it girl - it's unacceptable for you to be so cold!

Have you not got a union, they are most handy in situations like this, however, there is such a thing as Shops and Factory Act, heating, health and safety is covered, ask to see a copy of this, failing this go to either the Citizens Advice Bureau or speak to your local councillor who would be happy to advise you.

In the mean time, take a room thermometer and keep a record, signed by at least two of you each day.

In a factory where heavy work is being carried out you're covered by legislation and the minimum temperature is 16 degrees C. However in an office the temperature has to be 20C

Make an anonymous phone call to your local office of the Health & Safety Executive. Your workplace should be about 60 degrees Fahrenheit minimum.

In an office it must be at least 16c within an hour of starting work, on shop floor or factory floor their is no minimum or maximum temperature i believe, but they usually provide thermals, hats, coats, gloves, etc. Well they have when i have worked in warehouses, or no heating installed

'An acceptable zone of thermal comfort for most people in the UK lies roughly between 13°C (56°F) and 30°C (86°F), with acceptable temperatures for more strenuous work activities concentrated towards the bottom end of the range, and more sedentary activities towards the higher end.

I'm unsure of what the laws are in Scotland, but I doubt they could legally make you freeze. I think it's 63 degrees where I am...
