I have a wireles hp 2700 printer and have set up a network to it and prints/scans etc fine. then i have a US Robotics 9110 router to connect to adsl. networked with it fine and can connect to net fine. if i open Wireless Network Connections to see all the connections it shows the printer and the router as seperate things. If i want to print then i have to disconnect from the router and connect to the printer network. then to go on net i have to reconnect to it again. surely i can connect to both at once??

you probably have different SSID's for each device. Make sure all of your devices on the wireless network are under the same SSID, and make sure the network security settings, if any, are the same for all of the devices.
