Energy economics has been important since the industrial revolution (when we harnessed energy to drive production).

We don't have any particular economic advantage with oil vs. any other energy supply...........the "social" aspect I believe you're getting at has to do with whether it is produced inside or outside our borders.

well i will just guess.. but i think has first economical advantage and than social.

economical bec. it keeps the global economy alive, and the power in the hands who has oil.......
social... well.. uhm...... maybe you will know whos the power is, and you will obviously have a think about that. if you stay in US you will prob follow your leaders POV, if outside, or agaist, than try to know better the other side.....
