See. I wasted another 5 points promoting my other question...
This was my question:
How bad are the following habits for my hair...?
I am losing loads of hair (I am 26), I suspect some of my habits are dead wrong....
1. Not brushing (Can't brush when you have curly hair, unless you want me to look like you stuck your fingers in a socket). I think it's bad not to brush regularly, because I believe it stimulates the blood circulation in scalp - hair.
2. Brushing when wet from shower (Only way you won't look like I stuck my fingers in a socket)
3. Washing hair every day ( if I go to swimming pool), but trying and succeeding not to!
4. Wet it every morning when wake up (that's what us curly hair girls have to do...I think)
I suspect they are all in the "What not to do to your hair" bible...

All tips are welcome, but please cheap..

I have very curly hair too so I am going to try to help all I can. Use a wide tooth comb instead of the brush and yes the only time it can be done is while wet or we will look like chaka chan. Get a good strong bristle brush but only use when necessary. Get some Sebastian wet it cost about 15 bucks but your curls will last a few days yes a few days LOL so you don't have to comb as much. They sell it in cvs/rite aid places like that. Another thing you can try too is a relaxer. I get them when the winter starts so I don't have to wet my hair all the time. I use the mild children's relaxer (Just for me or TCB) Since its a mild children's one it will not get rid of all the curl but will thin them out enough that you can blow dry it. I hope I help you. I know how curly can be. Everyone wants it but the people how have it LOL.

That's okay. I lose alot of hair too and I have natural-born veryyyyyyyy curly hair (and it's thick, so it makes it worse!)!
1) no, if you don't brush, your hair will be more tangled, it's important to brush daily
2) yes, that's a pretty good solution. But also, don't sleep with wet hair. Makes it worse for hair.
3) washing hair everyday is pretty good (don't know why you think it's not)
4) no, that wastes time. just wet your brush a little and use it to brush your hair. i used to wet my hair but it takes too long and this solution is perfect! I use it.
You don't need any expensive stuff, well, you don't even need stuff at all. Just use brushes and water and follow the above. And I suggest that you buy a Olive Oil (hair lotion) that's organic, and is the root stimulator. It's completely great for your hair and it can make your conditions better.
Good Luck and remember, money can't make things better!

I too have curly hair and I have some of those bad habits. I also go through times when my hair is coming out like crazy, enough that I have gone to the doc and a natropath for advice.
I take a multiviamin and omega 3 fish oils in capsuls. I am not going bald but I find I do go through sort of a cycle where I lose alot of hair then hardly any.

Did you have some sort of trauma about three months ago? (that is the growth cycle of hair), it is common to llose hair after a trauma but it takes about three months...just an idea, if that is the case, it will stop fallin out...so don't worry..trauma could be emotional or physical..
Other than that, don't brush it when wet, use a really good conditioner, and don't wear elastics, clips whatever for a while...
I started losing my hair, and I mean in clumps once, went to doc and he told me the three month thing...3 months before had lost my best friend and had gotten divorced...hope it helps...!!
And if anyone says hey it is only hair....we can hunt em down together/!!!!!!!LOL

I've got curly hair... When I take a shower in the morning, I wash my hair and before I wash out the conditioner, I comb out the tangles. I use a bit of hair oil/grease or leave-in conditioner before I style my hair. and I style it so I don't have to make major adjustments to it because you are right about the fluffy mess it can be. For shine, it is weird but you can put some mayonaise in there and wash it out, but I don't have too many ideas! Hope this helps!!

Dragon used to shed a lot from stress. She combs/brushes her hair evary day, but does not wash it evary day. Washing it strips away the moisture. Dragon does not have curly hair, so she wouldn't reelly know. You should ask the person at the salon the next time you get yer hair cut. :)

those are not bad at all. i mean its everyday taking care of your hair like you should do. your just doing what your supposed to do. if you didnt do all of those things your hair as you said, would be not only lookin like you put your fingers in a socket. if you start to comb it, ooh boy it would be dred lock. i dont know what to say about your loosing hair problem but if it gets worse this is not the place to ask a type of question like that. maybe a hair specialist.
i hope this helps.

I definitely think it's wrong to "brush" wet hair. Wet curly hair should be lightly combed or better yet "picked". I was always taught that "brushing" wet hair leads to hair loss.

I know nothing about this "hair bible" lol... but I do know this much:
Not brushing your hair could lead to tangles.
Tangles lead to knots....and when knots get caught, hair falls out.
Also, stress levels can cause hair loss.
There is also something called premature balding in women..but I doubt thats your case.
Anyone with thick hair tends to lose a lot of hair...but thats because they HAVE a lot of hair.
So unless you see bald spots, I wouldn't sweat it.
