I'm not racist, I don't think I'm any better than any black person. My question is... there's been a lot of armed robberies at my college campus at night, and they've all been done by black males. If I don't have a purse or anything to steal, are they going to shoot me for being white? Do you guys just unprovoked attack? Do I have a reson to be scared? Or are you guys compassionate enough to not shoot someone without a reason?

Wow!!! What a statement. I don't know where to start. First off don't put yourself in places at times where you should not be and then you will be less likely to be harmed by anyone. Now I am black male and I hate it when we are all pre judged by other idiots wrong doings. Now there are bad people in every race. And you will find more nonsense in the lower econimcal areas of every city. The are bad whites, blacks, latinos, asians, and everyone else too. I think what you see are most crimes are commited by blacks. Your eyes decive you. I assume there are a few blacks around your school that are not behaving properly. What I did notice is you used the term "ghetto". Which means you relate this to some kind of lower economical lifestyle. Now we replaced those blacks with whites and lets dress them too while we are at it. Lets start with shaved tatooed heads. 4 day old shaven face. Blue jeans dirty sneakers and a way to worn black T - Shirt. Would you feel safe? Lets also talk abou the blacks that attend your school to get an education. Like the fellas in your class.Do you fear them too? Why not? They are black? I think you need to open you mind a little more. You like the rest of society are stereotyping black males. There are bad people in every race. These guys just happen to be black. I just wonder if they were ghetto whites would you feel the same about white males? Your statement implies that you feel whites don't do these things. Not True. I live in area where whites and blacks live together and of all economical standards. The crime in those bad areas are committed by everyone. But what I noticed is the media is quick to say "young black male". I sure you are familar with that term. When he is white. He is a young man about 5'11" dark hair. Race is not mentioned. Pay attention to what you see and hear you will find that there are just as many crimes commited by whites than blacks. Look at your school mass murders. So I hope you also fear whites in trench coats. Don't be an idiot and I'm not saying you are. Please protect yourself and stay in safe places always at night. Most purse snatchers and car jackers are cowards not blacks and they prey on women as easy targets because they are weaker and not as physically strong as a man. I don't prejudge anyone. But look at my position most cops are white and some are dirty. But I can't hate all cops because I ran into a few bad seeds. This stereotyping is what I can't stand. Just think if everyone thought like you. Here it is here. A black is arrested for a crime he didn't do. The cop is white, The D.A. is white, The Judge is white and so is the jury. And he was prejudge by skin color before he even sat in the courtroom. It happens all the time. And thats what i'm up against as a "Young Black Male" when people stereotype. Good thing I'm financialy sercure because without funds for the best attorney who could win with odds like this?

You should definitely be cautious of your surroundings. I'm black and I don't feel comfortable around ghetto black guys myself. But, they will not shoot you for being white. In my experience, if you mind your business and don't stare at them like you are in fear of your life, they will most likely not bother you.
Also, you can't really judge a book by its cover either. They may dress or talk a certain way, but a lot of them can actually be nice guys. Not everyone who dresses like they just stepped out of a rap video is looking to rob someone.
Every college campus has its set of problems, and they don't all stem from black people. Be aware of your surroundings, and try not to be out at night by yourself. That is recommended EVERYWHERE.

Why would anyone shoot you for being white if their purpose was to rob? Does that make any sense? And exactly how many armed robbers do you think are on this website? Very few I'd guess. So you're asking us black guys on here to tell you what armed robbers would do because they re black and we're black, so we must know.

Why does the young black man have to be ghetto all the time? You probally never even been to the ghetto. Black people usually just try to get money, that is usually white people that just kill innocent people, I would fear a white man for killing me rather a black man, they only want money. I think your experience has you a little narrow minded, about black people. You know every black person is not from the ghetto, just like every white person does not have money.

I don't trust anyone anymore like the nice old man we bought Christmas trees from is registered on the sex offenders list as a child molester. I know there are a lot of good people out there but there is always the bad black, white green purple you name it crime comes in all colors maybe the ghetto guys rip off your purse but the white collar's in the government rip off every thing from you. I think you are way paranoid and those comments might get you shot. You are racist or you wouldn't assume every black person is "ghetto". The very fact that you said "you guys" is proof of your being racist. There are people of all colors who rob school, banks, people, etc. I'm sure the black people you encounter will be rude to you and want to kick your butt because they have seen racism enough to be able to spot it from a mile away. I am white and my wife is black. I have always hung out in the so called ghetto and projects. I have been in a few fist fights years ago and have seen some shootings but i never knew anyone black to shoot at someone white just because they came through the hood. Most murders happen over drug altercations and domestic altercations, so I don't think you have anything to worry about unless you are getting robbed, lol.

Every race has criminals & bad people. If you're scared of ghetto black guys, yu should be scared of nerdy white guys too. For every O.J. there's a Scott Peterson. There are people who are just crazy that will just shoot you or anybody for no reason. It's the world we live in. Just be careful.
