If you want to change your background, right click anywhere on the desktop and select properties from the menu. Go to the Desktop tab and pick what you would like for your background.
If you have a white background now, mostlikely the picture you did have as your background somehow got deleted (or moved or renamed) and Windows could not find it. So it goes to a "blank" (meaning all white) background instead.

Something probably went wrong in your pc tower if it usually isn't white. Just reboot and see what happens. If that doesn't work, right click on your desktop and click Properties. Then a window should pop up with a tab inside called Desktop. Click the tab and a number of backgrounds should be there for you to select. Just click the one you want, and click ok.

Your computer's desktop probably got messed up. Assuming you use Windows, you right-click any empty area on your desktop, and choose PROPERTIES. In XP, go to the DESKTOP tab. In older versions of Windows, go to the BACKGROUND tab.
If you are still having trouble, I can be reached at kevin__-chen@yahoo.com. And yes, there are two underscores (_).
