My husband got this cat a couple of years ago...when we only had one child. Now we have 3 and our middle child has asthma and allergies really bad. The cat only makes her sicker...plus it's just gross. He gets on the kitchen counters, eats my baby's bottle nipples and pacifiers...his litter box stinks, AND he's not really all that friendly. Everytime I bring it up my husband just gets angry, but I really don't want the cat to be around for 10 plus more years! Is it really that terrible of me to want to send the cat to another home, or at least outside?

Omg! He is so selfish!!! Unless he's in love with his cat (which, in that case, tell him to go marry it) I think he's being selfish for keeping the cat in the house when it causes so much trouble. How many bottle nipples and pacifiers does it infect with its germs that you probably don't even know about? Is his childrens' health less important than his cat? Your poor child...

There is nothing wrong with putting the cat outside and honestly, the cat would probably be happier. What's a house when he could have the big, wide outdoors to explore? ;-)

I agree with you. That cat seems to be like a fourth child. If your husband won't give him up, then make the cat an outdoor one. The cat is very unhealthy for your kids and will just contribute to more problems later on.

No, it is not wrong for you to ask your husband to get rid of the cat. He is wrong for still having it when he has a child with asthma.
