first of all, I am not from Miami or a Dolphin fan. It just pisses me off to see all these sports people lying to your face like this. First it was Larry Brown in Detroit, then it was Raphael Palmeroid, and now it's Nick Saban. I couldn't Saban just say " Well im not thinking about the job right now, let me just help my team finished the season" or "no comment" He have to stand there and lied to our faces like this. So i think the next time there's speculations of Coaches or players going to a different job, im not going to believe anything of what they say. I got that with Phil Jackson here in Los Angeles when he actually stated " I am not coaching this team if he (kobe bryant) is on the team." You can be an azz or a jerk but dont be a lier cus that is worst in my opinion.

It's called "Obvious Fibbing". Many do this in press conferences. Much has to do with being "politically correct" or not angering who you're with.

Just after Miami's loss to Indianapolis, he stated something to the effect of "My interests lie here with the Dolphins organization...." (something like that). But days later when he asked Bama for an extension, it was obvious that he wanted to think things over and discussions were taking place.

This very topic is talked about many times on Sports radio stations.

Saban stinks! That team should have never gone 6-10. Saban is a liar. Whatever. Money talks I guess. I've given up on football. about a month and a half untill pitchers and catchers report to spring training! can't wait! Well, I am not sure of my White Sox chances this year. They don't look so good!

Saban is now the Larry Brown of football. Every sport has that guy. It is kinda fuinny and yet so sad. Some people just can't stay put. The smell of money is to strong for them. The best part is Saban saying his family did not like the south Florida life style. So the Tuscaloosa lifestyle is more attractive? I bet those run down malls and cookie cutter restaurants are great. All that sun and water probably does get old.

When one has a reputation for lying all of the time as you imply that Nick Saban does...then even when they tell the truth, one still assumes the person is lying.

By the way, why would someone in contract negotiations tell the world what his/her strategy is. After all, it is that person's business and not upper-tier quarterbacks.

Because if they said that they were interested in a job it would affect their team and their current job as well. The only way to get the press out of their face is to lie unless they really do not intend to take another job. What would you say if your boss ask you if you were looking for another job (and you were). Most people would lie until they had found a new job out of fear of losing the one they have now. Think!

I can empathize, and to make things worse, I'm an LSU fan. But what we don't understand is the amount of money at stake. To me, and probably to you, the difference between $15 million and $40 million seems like funny money. However, if you are not going to get or take the $40 million job, you don't want to lose the $15 million job.

When they hired this guy, I was like "Who?". LSU, whatever. I'm sick of "nobodys" getting all the media attention. Back in the day, 70% of teams had a "name" coach that was AT LEAST respected. Today, in the NFL, much of that is lost. Same goes for the players. Remember when every team had a hall of fame QB? Now they are just manufactured "media-stars" who have NEVER proven anything.

we are dolphin fans in my house. He cant tell the truth because he lied. He said he would stay with the dolphins for whatever reason it was at the time (I cant remember his exact words) But now that hes quitting he's scared to tell the truth because what he said a few years ago would make it a lie today! Screw um he sucks anyways!

Your Right, but it's all about money. Right now the Higher ups in Miami and Higher ups in bama are offering and Nick is going to make a choice from Money. Thats why they lie.
