Hi I actually work for vodafone in the customer services so this question is second nature to me. It depends on if your contract or pay as you talk. If your contract you can upgrade two months before the end of the contract and basically get whatever phone you want. It all depends on what you want your phone. I'mm always amazed when at the botttom of everyones list is the very thing they were designed for and that's making calls. If you are looking for camera phones I wouldn't reccomend any motorola as the camera quality isn't that good on them.
Sony Ericsson have some amazing handsets that are stylish and have excellent functions on them.
You can have a look at the handsets online at vodafone.com or call into any local store and collect a free instore magazine that has a list of all the handsets on them.
If you want to know anything else I'm more than happy for you to contact me directly because I can also advise you of various services that may be able to save you money and be beneficial for you.
my contact is justin glover (no spaces) at bt internet.com

well if you want a pay as you go phone I would recommend a LG3300 virgin mobile phone. I got one for Christmas and it is really good, the only thing I didn't like about it that it was not a camera phone but it was a flip phone and it had voice recording and you can download ring tones, games and wallpaper on it. when you activate the phone you Can choose from a few paying plans and the plan i am on with my phone is 10 cents a minute and 10 cents a text message which i find really cheap. When you activate the phone they give you $10 of minutes and that would last you (if your on the 10 cents a minute plan) I would say 25 days if you aren't always on your phone. The phone costs under $150 so its not expensive and it is really clear sounding. So yeah that's a good phone.

I've got the N70 Nokia and to be honest I'm really not happy with it - I've had it for over 12 months, with another 6 months to go and recently it has started to 'crash' a bit like a computer - just closes itself down all the time - it's also painfully slow (has been since the start) compared to other phones
I've also heard the LG Chocolate phone is totally unreliable.
You can't beat the nokia 6230i - so user friendly, video, camera etc etc
A few of my friends have got the nokia 6280 and they love it

depends what you want from it. I had Nokia 6600, great but too big. didn't like Nokia 6230 so went for Samsung D600. Good phone, I guess the D900 is probably a bit better. I once had a Motorola, but never ever again!

I recommend staying with Motorola, however, if you like surfing the web and staying alert with the world while you are on the go - shopping, commuting, etc- then I would say that it is well worth it to get the Motorola Q. You can listen to music, browse the web, organize your phonebook, and of course get your phone calls. What's there not to like?

I adore my phone which is a Sony Ericcson W550i. I love it because you can use the radio or download albums and listen to them like a walkman and if you are away for a weekend you can bring some music with you. You don't even need speakers. I LOVE MY PHONE. I believe the new model of it is the W300

I currently have an N80 which has awsome mutimedia features but is a little on the slow\heavy side and the battery doesn't last very long. I still miss my Sony-Ericsson k750i! Small, good battery life, fast!
If its talking\texting I'd recommend a Sony-Ericsson model!
If its features I'd recommend a Nokia!
