Like you, I am a staunch supporter of our troops but as far as President Bush is concerned not only should he be impeached,he should be arrested and tried for war crimes and crimes against humanity and once convicted ,should be sentenced to death. You younger citizens should read up on the things Hitler did and draw your own comparisons to Bush. You will see that, like Hitler,Bush has consistently tried to push our set of beliefs and style of government onto peoples who didn't ask for them. While I believe that democracy is the best thing going consider this, this nation has only been around for about 250 years and here we are trying to force feed our way of doing things down the throats of nations that have been around for thousands of years! What's wrong with that picture? Don't you agree that sounds just a bit ARROGANT? Nobody in the middle east asked us to do what we're doing there yet there we are. Ethiopia has begged us to come help them out of the horrors happening there and the Bush controlled congress has turned them down!! Look this stuff up and you'll see I'm not making it up.Let this be a lesson to you younger Americans and please elect honest people into office, not greedy war monger alcoholics like bush and his cronies! It's your country, take care of it!

Well--you raise a good point. However, there's another way of looking at this (and, BTW, I don't favor impeachment, although I think Bush and Cheney both deserve it). First--a lot of people are venting--and if you are going to spend time on Y/A politics or any similar forum, better get used to it! :) More to the point--don't assume it would hurt the Democrats politically. Polls show 45% of the American people do favor impeaching Bush--the figure for Cheney is even higher. Two things would have to happen, however. First, there would have to be some really clear-cut event-say, a direct link between warrentless spying on Americans that traced directly to Bush. That's entirely possible. But you would also have to have a more or less complete collabse of the republican coalition in the Senate--and while that coalition is going to give way sooner or later on the Iraq issue, I don't see it becoming so extensive that a 2/3 vote could be achieved--and it would be pointless to impeach without a chance of conviction. You also suggested that "the Democrats have supported everything Bush has done at one time or another." Sorry--that is simply inaccurate--and they have NEVER supported the knds of actions Bush has taken that point to possible impeacheable offenses--e.g. the use of warrentless/no-court reviewed surveillance).

First off we do not know that he did lie. The Amercian people, as well as the rest of the World, did not have access to the documentation that he did. And which by the way so did the Congressional Committee that deals with this sort of thing. The United States Constitution states in Article II, Section 4: "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." I am not sure that any of these can be proven beyond a doubt. No understand that I was a US Marine and I was over there the first time. There were/are many mistakes but Iam not sure that it rises to that level. Cheers

I think Bush should have been impeached LONG AGO! But the political atmosphere in Congress obviously was not conducive to that idea, since it was overrun with Republicans. But now it's NOT, so hopefully the long-overdue inpeachment process can get underway. Even though I don't approve of Clinton's personal affair, I find it far LESS impeachable than all of the wrongs Bush has committed upon the people, and the reputation, of the United States. So yes, let's get Bush out of here!!!! :(
P.S. For the record, I support the troops too. They didn't ask to be sent to Iraq, and they're just trying to do their best. I definitely admire and support them. I do NOT admire or support the reason they're still there, however, and I certainly don't admire or support our President. Even BEFORE the whole war started, I was against just about everything Bush was/is for! His political, religious, and moral "values" do not even remotely match mine.

No! Impeachment should be reserved for serious (high crimes) commited in office. Not for punishing the other side of the aisle. Clinton was set up to perjurer himself under oath about a sexual indiscretion that had nothing to do with the Presidency or even the case that was being litigated and then dismissed. It too was wrong. This type of gotcha politics will dissuade qualified people from entering the process. When need to see ourselves as Americans first and Republican or Democrat much further down the list. Even suggesting impeachment for Bush seems inappropriate at this point.

He hasn't told ANY lies! I've got the quotes from Clinton as far back 1997 that says Saddam needs to be dealt with! Bush hasn't done anything wrong and even if he did lie, which he has not, lying isn't an impeachable offense.

not if they want to get a president in 08 they wont.
most normal thinking people know Bush messed up with Iraq, but it is hardly impeachable.
If they went though with it, the thing will become such a circus they will lose the moderate vote, and it will be a republican led government for at least 4 more years.
Lol good thing they made Nacy Pelosi Majority leader... lol
I can hear the Music and the clowns from here....

What a waste of time that would be. If the Democrats really wanted change (something that the American people clearly want from the results of the elections), Congress should spend its time working for solutions to the problems that America faces. Bush will be gone soon enough anyway.

You can not fix stupid...... The government has a weak majority. Bush has the veto. We know we are in a pickle and for that matter so does the world. I think he gets it that the majority if the people are now willing to say we messed up. We got the wrong guy and moved the war. Pakistan is happy we did not blow them up. It is not good the spot we are in. Even if Mr. president is at fault and should be impeached it is a waste of time we have to get some stuff done. The moral of the Country is at stake and we have to make sense out of all the fallen soldiers. Some where in a dark room with the fat cats that make the decisions their has to be someone who says lets stop the influence of the president in declarations of war. Atomic power is managed well, what about using this structure for war making. Do not waste the time on Impeachment.

They don't have any grounds to impeach. There is no evidence of any lies. He had evidence to suspect WMD, he didn't say there were, like most people are implying. It was voted on and backed by congress. So they would be at fault to. So I doubt they'd want to waste the time and energy to impeach Bush.

No, I don't think the new congress should impeach Bush. If they do, and he knows that the impeachment process will go through, Bush will then probably resign; at that point Cheney will become president and he,no doubt, would give Bush a full pardon. The president is at fault for not taking the time to validate the intelligence that was given to him. I think Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld should be arrested and tried in an Iraqi court for their crimes against the Iraqi people.
