I have a robe and I always dry myself with the towel before putting the robe on. If you do that; putting the robe instead, you could feel very weird.

It really depends on what it is made out of. My robe's material is like a towel, so no I don't dry of first.

If the robe is made out of terry cloth (aka towel material) you do not have to dry yourself first, just use your robe as a towel. Make sure to hang it up to dry and wash it frequently or it will smell (ewwwww)

I use my robe when I'm getting ready (hair/makeup). Towels are for drying off.

It depends. If you really value your robe and the material is nice it might get warped or damaged by the water/some excess soap. I always dry my body but not my head, women like wet hair but walking around in a robe totally dried gives you the aristocratic look and feel. My girlfriend loves it and usually being dry leads me to sweet lovemaking after the shower. I suggest do half and half and see what happens ;-).

I would use a towel first, because after tiem the water on your robe begins to mold and smell bad.

According to sources it is best to air dry opposed to using a dry cloth. So in this event, I think to use your robe opposed to drying off is the same effect.

Allowing your pores to air dry is healthy, and helps create oils and emollients in your skin. Your skin is allowed the opportunity to breath, and this is always a healthy function.

It also cuts back on the amount of laundry that you would accumulate.

I would use the towel first, unless you wash the robe every day. The robe will sour, trust me I know, my husband use to do that.
