I am applying for a job online and they are asking my if I have customer contact experience. I know this job is a call center type job, I have NO call center experience. Are they asking me if I have call center experience or are they just asking me if I have worked with the public in my previous jobs, (Which I have a lot.) I know this is a stupid question but I would like an answer if you have one.

Customer contact experience is just a way of finding out how you deal with people. It doesn't have to be with a call center. It can be things as simple as selling Girl Scout Cookies or volunteering at a local Senior Citizens home. Don't neglect to tell them as much as possible about your experience in this area. It is very important for this type of job.

Just answer a question as it is put: Have you ever had a customer contact experience?
As I understand the answer is "Yes, a lot".
If they invite you to an interview and specify the question by asking if you ever worked for a call center, than you will explain WHAT customer contact experience you had.
Whenever answering any questionnaire, do not try to specify the questions. Just answer them exactly as they are asked.
Good luck with your job search.

I am pretty sure that they are just asking if you have dealt with customers directly in previous jobs.
