Gather up some of your baby teeth and get your friends to pitch in too... your parents probably kept some of them if you didn't.

Put one in a cup of Coke, one in orange juice, one in mouthwash, one in milk, one in water, etc... and then leave them over night or several days, can keep them in fridge.

Record what each substance does to the teeth.

If you don't have teeth, use dirty old pennies and record the results then...

My son did a great science project in 6th grade called "Animal Tracks" and it one him first place ribbon.
He researched with my help, different animals and then made plaster casts of what their tracts would look like. He asked questions on the information boards to spark an interest like:
Which animal is wlaking through the forrest? Then he showed the tracks.
He had bobcat, racoon, rabbits, birds, fox, coyote, field mice, bear and a few more.
He told about each animal too.
This did not take too much time and the plaster part was fun.

A boy from my son's 4th grade class compared chemical fertilizer to an algae/fish based one by growing sunflowers. He included risks/benefits supported by pictures. Out of the 100 or so, this was my favorite. I bought some of this natural fertilizer from my local co-op farm and will continue to do so. Science is fun for kids and adults

How about reflections. When I was in the fifth grade I took a shoe box and glued small mirrors in fixed positons so that when I shine a flashlight through it, it would come out the other end. I guess now you can even use a cheap laser that you can buy at seven eleven.

What do plants grow best in, salt water or fresh water? That's what my friend and I used in grade 6 and we got a silver medal in the end. All you have to do is buy two of the same kind of plant and water one with salt water and one with fresh water. Take pictures of each plant and use them to put on your backboard and then write out your hypothesis and conclusion and all of the things the teachers make you do. Good luck

This is what I did for my 5th grade science project ...

... I grew marigolds with the same amount of sunlight and soil, but I used Coke to water one and used regular water to grow the other ...

... try it yourself ... it's quite amazing.

Have you tried the Internet? Or you can do the old favorite of building a volcano. Another suggestion is testing chromas of fruit flies. It is a very colorful project.
