I'm looking for a well linux supported wireless card. I need/want it to run under Puppy Linux, and primarily Knoppix-STD (Security Tools Distrobution). It also needs to support monitor mode because I want to use it with kismet, airsnort, and other network tools. Puppy Linux should not be a problem, because I could use ndiswrapper to make it work and I would only be using it for standard surfing, but Knoppix-STD is a whole new can of worms. Has anybody had good experience with a wireless card on Knoppix-STD?

I haven't used Puppy, but I have used Knoppix and a couple other distributions with my Cisco AIR-CB21AG-A-K9 PCMCIA card and it worked fine for all. I successfully used all of the tools you mentioned with this card, kismet, airsnort, airodump, aircrack, etc... The Cisco CB21AG a/b/g card list price is $169 but you'll find it cheaper with a little searching. Might be a few bucks more compared to others but it's one of the best cards out there according to some reviews.
