I wouldn't know. My wife and I have had zero sex life since the kids were born almost 4 years ago.

I wonder where they get these statistics? Even if they came from surveys, its not like you can know for sure if its accurate unless someone followed around all couples 24/7 and videotaped, or provided some kind of proof everytime they did it. I'd say there is no way to know for sure, and it really depends on the couple...I'd say a more accurate statement would be "its likely that the average couple has or has had sex" LOL!

This sounds average to me. Between the people that just got married and do it twice a day to those who do it once a month - this is about accurate for an average. I would have said once a week if I had to guess - there's always so many people complaining about not getting any.

It's up to you -- what ever you feel is right to you to have intercourse but hey it does seem accurate. Remeber have sex because you want sex and your partner wants sex not just because society says so. Some people have sex every day some couples only have it 4x a week. but i can't stress this enough don't have sex if your only reason is: the tv shows says that the adverage couple has it this amount of sex at a time... who cares! do what you feel is right ... you might just prove them wrong :o) who are they to know :)

It depends the age of the couple, the family (kids, etc.), the jobs, some couples don't even talk today. It sounds as if, a 5 between 1 and 10. It all depends, but it sounds accurate.

I think it sounds right. Our frequency has decreased proportional to time together. Like most couples. In the beginning we did 2-3 times a day; then that many a week; then that many a month. And we've only been together less then two years. I want to do it more but with someone else.

I don't think that something like that can really be thrown into a statistic for the simple fact that every couple is different, and everyone's sex drive is different. Some couples may only have sex once in a blue moon, as to where another couple could be harlequin.

I really don't think anyone can put a number on it!! But once every four days seems pretty average!! But then again, it doesn't sound like they talked to specific age groups. I think things like having children or careers might have an affect on this that they may not be looking at!

Well, I personally would have to say more! But, my husband and I have a great passion for one another and strive to keep up the level of intimacy between us. For the average couple, it probably is 98 times a year...but not for me!

I'd say it evens out. My wife and I tend to have sex in short bursts (for lack of a better word). We'll go without sex for weeks, and then we'll just suddenly jump each other and have sex multiple times of a period of about 3 days. So I suppose if you averaged that out, it would be about the same as that number, give or take.
