I didn't know that. Ok, Actually I did, and I worked in a sea food resturant when I was pregnant I got addicted to crab meat, and catfish. I asked my doctor about it cause the ladies at work were telling me that I shouldn't be eating it and my doctor told me that it's actually good for the baby. Fish has alot of good nutrients for the baby. I had a healthy 8lb 12 oz baby boy! I'm pretty sure it's ok.

Fish is okay to eat up to 3 times per week. I also don't think that there is mercury in the fish sandwiches at Mcdonalds. Mercury levels differ from one species of fish to the next. This is due to factors such as type of fish, size, location, habitat, diet and age. Fish that are predatory (eat other fish) are large and at the top of the food chain, and so tend to contain more mercury. Fish that contain higher levels of mercury include:
Shark
Ray
Swordfish
Barramundi
Gemfish
Orange roughy
Ling
Southern bluefin tuna.
Examples of fish that contain lower levels of mercury include:
Shellfish including prawns, lobsters and oysters
Salmon
Canned tuna
Hope I was some help. Fish is good for you, but Mcdonald's is bad for you unless you get a salad.

Out of any fish they you eat McDonalds is probably the worst. Who knows what your ingesting. I wouldn't do it. Its not worth your baby's health. There is alist of ok fish to eat, I'm sure you can find it on line. Maybe you can make your own sandwhich with something more safe. It just doesn't seem worth the risk to me. I've been working with the developmentally disabled children for quite some time. Just the possibility of any link at all between levels of mercury and cognitive disablitiiest seems worth staying away from mercury to me. It's nine months then you can eat and drink whatever you wish.

I would imagine that the fish fillet sandwich at Mc D's is probably made up from an assortment of fish, mostly COD pieces. I think COD ranks middle on the list for Mercury content. Check the following site out carefully. Protect your little one. :)

Most doctors are concerned with locally caught fish, I live in WI and there are high mercury levels. They told me the processed fish is okay. Still try to eat in moderation due to the fact that it is deep fried and not all too healthy,.

It's made from white fish so the mercury content is not as high as of some other fish, so don't worry too much about having the occasional one.
