labour laws say that any seasonal work overtime is paid after 55hrs. they are lucky i worked at a fish plant ,over time was after 75hrs, scary thing was that i usually made over time.

I believe everyone in canada gets heath insurance... not like the problems we have here in the US so they put more hours... so they can pay the insurances and govnt who provide the coverage. We have a 40 hour week and NO manditory requirements for insurance.... I would rather tack on the 15 hours... and make shure that me and my family are insured... or work less.. and have NO insurance.

How's about they can only work a few months of the year due to freezing weather? Then bust *** in the summer?

They`re lucky that they are getting overtime at all. As far as I know they don`t have a union.
