Will a dirty bomb go off in the USA in 2007?

Will the US government set it off?
Will Al Qaeda set it off?
Will Iran set it off?
or will they all cooperate?

YES...the U.S. Government or the Bush Administration will orchestrate the catalyzing event. They will blame it on Iran. Then proceed to invade Iran like they have Iraq. After...they will push for their "New World Order." Impeach Bush now! Restore the Constitution! Bring back Honor and Integrity to the White House!

In 1975 I was responsible for training Iranian naval cadets. They were extremely intelligent young men, and had great pride in their units. I knew several of their commanding officers at the time. They - in unison - assured me that their country was on a long term course to reestablish their pre-eminent role in the middle east as the rival of both Egypt and Turkey. They said they had a 3500 year tradition of being leaders in their region, and would not allow the last 500 years or so to be more than an interruption. Several of them pointed out the high numbers of Iranians on government scholarships to US Universities in the areas of Physics and Engineering. This, so they indicated, was part of their effort to establish a scientific base in the country to eventually result in their becoming a member of the world's 'most exclusive club'.

I believe that this long term policy still existsand is being pursued.

The question should not be whether Iran can do this in 2007...
I believe Iran currently has the capability of putting a 'dirty bomb' in a container on a ship, transferring it to a third country's carrier, and shipping that container to any port in the 'western' world.

The question should be - are there enough negative consequences as a result of such an act in terms of public reaction and US retaliation to prevent it?

I don't know if one will go off, but I definitely do not believe, if it were to happen, it would be because of AL Quaida or Iran but I believe it would be a false flag operation by our government. I would be used to get support for a war with Iran. (Just like 911 was used to get us into Afghanistan and Iraq.)

Do you realize how much trouble it would take to make a "dirty bomb"? The radioactive material alone would kill anyone handling it in a couple of days at most. To design, build, transport and detonate such a device would be major undertaking by anyone without being detected.

So the answer is NO to all four questions.

I do not think so. Although I share Robertson's faith, I do not share his approach or a lot of his stranger ideas. No one can have a special conversation with God. As Christians, we are all equal in His eyes.

It is a strong possibility given the past actions of Terrorists .It just gets bigger every time .
That the next logical assumption is that they will smuggle a nuke packed in 500 pounds of cocaine so it just slips right in .

`Dirty Bomb'is an euphemism.So, you have to ask whether euphemisms are as dangerously actionable.I disagree in any case, as a matter far,far beyond the pale of even the most obscure ethics.
