I've read that muscle spasms and twitches are totally normal during pregnancy. Part of it is probably due to the extra blood flow to your legs and abdomen as the pregnancy progresses. I'm 17 weeks now but around 7-10 weeks I kept having eye twitches. It's stopped now but that's when I learned that the spasms and such are totally normal. I wouldn't worry too much about it but consult your doctor if it really troubles you.

No idea what's causing this. But I would call your doctor, either regular doctor or your OB-GYN about this one.
Here are my other suggestions:
Maybe a pinched nerve or circulation problem? Are your shoes or socks too tight or uncomfortable?
Can you elevate your feet while you are sitting, at least some of the time and take frequent breaks where you get up and walk around, stretch, etc?
Are you staying hydrated? Drink 8 to 10 large glasses of water per day.
Have you considered wearing "light support" knee-highs, which can improve circulation, which is especially important when you are pregnant?
Also, try adding one whole banana and one large glass of orange juice every day, to improve the potassium in your diet.

I would go see my chiropractor. But I have a really excellent chiropractor. My son was twitching his foot funny (he's two) We took him to the emergency room and they charged us $500 to tell us nothing. The next day we went to the chiropractor and he said it was his hip not his foot adjusted him for $35 (he didn't even wake from his nap) and he has not had the problem since. I hope this helps and good luck!

Try putting your feet up a lot. Talk to your Doc and see if you can go the the chiropractor since you are still pretty early in your pg. When I was pg I had horrible shooting pains through my feet (I worked on my feet alot) as well as sciatic pain. The chiropractor visit completely did away with the foot pain. I still have sciatic pain, though.

First take a deep breath and calm down second try eleveating your foot and next is there a nurse you can call that is on staff with your gyn doctor; if it is swollen or you feel light headed always go to the hospital or spotting. ok But call someone in the medical field or go on line to md doctors that will also help. Take Care

When you're pregnant your body goes through many changes. I developed gestational carpel tunnel. I shad to sleep with splints on my hands for the last 4 months of my pregnancies and it went away about 2 months after I gave birth with both my children. Talk to your doctor about it. It may just be pregnancy induced and will go away after you give birth. Good luck.

Not only does the blood flow in your body increase but so does your heart rate. It is probably completely normal but I would call the doctor and ask if it is bothering you. Good luck and congrats on the baby on the way!
