I have done it many times as a student when I didn't have a car. When studying late at night for exams I used to go to Taco Bell and knock at the window for giving my order. The people were too nice to me and they never objected to that. Once they started recognizing me, it got a lot more easier. But yeah it feels a little weird for ten cars waiting behind you while you are strolling at the drive-thru to order one bean burrito. :-)

no but, once when i was 16 i worked at a mcdonolds drive thru
and some kids went through the drive thru in a stolen shopping cart. I thought it was pretty funny at the time.
