Carl Jung did a lot of work on interpretation of dreams. And according to him our dream always have a direct correlation to our waking lives. Although it isn't always easy to ascertain. One thing about dreams is that they are always brutally honest because they originate in our sub and unconscious mind and are"uncensored" by any kind of waking inhibitions and rationalizations. Your story reminds me of the introductory story in a recent book about the famous William James called Ghost Hunters. You should check it out, psychic powers are for real and you may have it.

Sounds scary! I have dreams almost every day too, and a lot of them are similar to one another. There's no hard and fast rule to interpreting dreams--diff people have diff theories. What's most important to keep in mind is that things in dreams--water, sex, cliffs, whatever--are hardly ever literal. So it's not likely there's a body in a stream somewhere that you need to find or anything like that. What you can look at to help you understand the dream is how you behaved and felt in the dream. Were you scared? Were you taller or shorter than usual? Did you feel confident? Water generally (in classical dream interpretation) is viewed as representing the unconscious. For instance, if you had a dream in which you drowned, then that might mean that you feel like you're drowning in subconscious fears or other overwhelming emotions. But you weren't the one who drowned/died in this dream. The ghost/ghost's voice could represent a number of things that have been going on in your life, past or present: someone who's died; a mentor; a friend; your inner voice...try to relate it to your own experience, because that's how dreams are best interpreted.
Without knowing you, I would guess that you know someone who is struggling/"going down" emotionally, and you recognize that when maybe no one else does. Recognizing their situation is important to you and to the other person, but you know/feel that you can't save them--you're looking ahead to the future and to the "bigger picture" of life (mountains, ocean). Or, if you feel that the ghost's voice is like your inner child or an inner voice, you might be grieving the death of your childhood or some part of yourself, while at the same time having the strength to look ahead to better things to come.
Interesting dream--thanks for sharing it!

Well, I had a dream similar to this one. My grandma, who passed away a while back, was talking to me, but I couldn't make out what she was saying, although if I did hear what she said, all she'd say was that she was fine where she was and she's watching over me. Did you by any chance hear what the ghost said to you? Did you recognize the mountains or the stream from anywhere you been to before? If so, this could possibly be a clue to, either an unsolved death or a clue to a death that will happen soon. I don't really have that much knowledge on dreams. It could possibly just be a meaningless dream, but I don't think so that much.

Everyone dreams at least 4-7 times a night. There are some people who manage to remember there dreams and others that don't. As you grow older your dreams start to become less rememberable. If you are having a dream repeatedly in your case one that makes you extremeley uncomfortable to dream about or even think about it is called recurring dreams. Most times these dreams are what we would call nightmares and although your dream seems to have no significance to you it could be just interpretating something going on in your life right now. All you need to do is actually sit down and think about the dream a little more in depth. Think about the meanings of everything and once the problem is resolved the dream will fade away. If you need helpe figuring out what everything symbolizes just google or yahoo dream dictionary... it will come up with a list of words and what they mean if you dream about them. Good luck

Seeing ghost in the dream often shows symbol of guilt conscience.
forest = social life
ghost = guilt or helpless conscience
Mountains, oceans = emptiness
In your case, this ghost may represent some helpless conscience in you. You projected her to tell you something, something that you want to discover. In other words, there may be something in life you need to find out and you have no help for some reason. So, you had this ghost dreamed out.
As far as mountains and the ocean go, it symbolize your world, your world being empty. You have some sort of emptiness in you and you want to fulfill.
In conclusion, you are seeking for support, trust and respect from others. That is why you vent this dream out

Dreams are just the body's way of mulling over what happend durring the day. The average person has about 3-4 dreams a night, but usually forgets them. If there is anything that's been going on in you life that might cause these dreams then THERE'S your problem.

Dreams can tell you what happened in the past or near future. They are called Premonitions. They are visions. I also get those, plus without even knowing, then I get a deja vu. Which is something you had a vision of and then it comes into the future. But dreams also give symbols. Pay attention to the surroundings in your dream, they mean something. Here is a website that can help you understand the symbols in your dreams: www.dreammoods.com
Good luck!

okay,
you only know what you are dreaming if you get woke up in the middle of one ... i personally dont think i dream cause i sleep like a log ...
the sleep cycle is exactly 90 minutes .... the last 30 are when you are in REM sleep (when you dream) .... you get woke up in these dreams .... as for what your dreams mean ...
maybe you are being used as a medium ... the connection between the dead and the living ... maybe this woman was missing and died near this stream ... i dont know ... maybe you should try askin her questions next time you have this dream ... or you could look up on the internet missing persons and give a vague dicription of what the ghost looks like.

It could be an ESP dream, maybe someone did die in a stream and hasnt been found yet.
Or it could just be something u watched on TV that triggered this dream.
Anyway we all dream weird stuff that usually do not effect our reality in any way.

Well, do you live near mountains or a stream? If so, then your mind is capturing imiges that youve seen and ghosts that your thinking of or have seen in a movie, and when your mind is thinking of everything at once, while you are sleeping, thats called a dream.
