There's a politically stronger Christian community in Lebanon than in any other Muslim country. Their influence has been declining rapidly over that last couple of decades however. Still a political force.

Lebanon is the only arab CHRISTIAN country in the middle east, as many wanna change it to become a muslim country but the Christians in Lebanon are powerful and they won't let this happen, thats why there is a conflict now in Lebanon which is subject to resolve as soon as possible.

Lebanon, along with Israel and Turkey, are pretty much the only countries in the middle east which do not forbid the practice of religions other than Islam.
