OK, When I woke up this morgning, I was lying there in bed and, you know how it feels when your hand or foot goes numb? Its tingly? Well my belly felt like that. Its was all tingly. Is this something that happens or should I call the doctor. I dont want to call them and feel stupid. This is my third pregnancy and I have never felt anything like that before. Its not doing it now, just the one time. Does anyone know of something thats could cause this? I am scared and dont want anything to be wrong. Please be nice and dont make me feel more stupid than I already do for not knowing. Thanks

Im a medical assistant at an ogyn and let me tell you no questions is a stupid one when it comes to the health of you and your unborn...Ive never heard of that happening and your still early so I would give the doc a call at least then if its nothing you can rest easier and if it is something to be worried about then you can get it dealt with

I too had this happen to me I have had two c-sections and at times with being pregnant now I have felt the same thing. I was told it was due to the c-sections. I don't know if you have ever had a c-section but even if so I would still call your nurse just to see what is really going on. Those doctors and nurses have heard and seen everything they are not going to think you are stupid.

Since it happened right when you woke up, I wonder if you pinched a nerve or something while you were sleeping. Maybe the baby was laying on something and when you started moving around the blood started flowing again. Whenever I get that tingling in my hand it is usually when the flood starts flowing again after it has been pinched off. That is the only thing I can think of.

I am a firm believer that a phone call can never hurt. My boyfriend thought that he had a lump in his throat because of anxiety probably. I agreed. Then he was having some trouble breathing. Still a symptom of anxiety but it had been going on for 3 months. I made him go to the doctor.
Do you know what happened?
He has cancer and he could have died if he didn't go in.
Never feel stupid about being careful.

That is odd. The only time I have had anything like that happen is with an epidural. I would call the doctor just to make sure. Could be your uterus pressing on some nerves or something. Good luck

You could have just laid wrong and pinched a nerve for a bit and now that you are up, that is why the tingly feeling went away. You moved and released the pressure on the nerve. No question is a dumb question. Don't worry. (Well, some of the questions on here are not dumb anyways....LOL)

Call your doctor. The baby might have been putting pressure on a nerve that caused the tingly belly, but you never know. Please for the sake of your baby check in with the doc.

I agree with Shari and Casey--that you may have pinched a nerve in your sleep. I think you have every right to call your doctor and ask him/her about it without having to feel stupid. We pregnant women are supposed to worry--it makes us better moms, right? It will give you peace of mind that you may not find here on Yahoo. So, do what you think is best, and never let anyone make you feel stupid. Best of luck to you.

Don't feel stupid. Just call the doctor, that's what you are paying them for. Anytime during your pregnancy that you feel uncomfortable or worried about something it is always best to call your doctor. If they make you feel stupid for calling then you need to go to a different doctor.

I am an overreacter and call my doctor all the time, but you know what they really don't care that is what they are there for. Call and ask and just say I wanted to make sure it wasn't anything out of the ordinary.
