While what you are going through is inconvenient and uncomfortable, it isn't an emergency. Do what is right for your baby and go full term.

Until you are 37 weeks you are preterm. I know you would not want to put your baby at risk because you are uncomfortable; and not many doctors would go along with that either.
At term, some doctors will induce a woman's labor at her request, without any medical reason. This is called an 'elective induction.'
Induction of labor can be an extremely unpleasant experience and carries risks beyond that of spontaneous labor.
If your cervix is not "ripe," an induction can take 3, 4, 5 days. This is not fun. Some doctors are not willing to spend all this time on inducing someone, and will do a c-section at the end of the first day if you do not go into active labor.
Even if your cervix is ripe and ready, there is increased risk of fetal distress and maternal infection with an induction, and either of these could lead to a c-section.
Talk to your doctor or midwife about your discomforts. They should be able to recommend some back exercises and some other ways to help you cope. The diarrhea should be checked out, too.
Be careful what you ask for!!! The last weeks of pregnancy can be miserable, but you will be better off if you can stick it out.

Every pregnant women has back pain from carrying the baby plus all the other weight around for 9 months, it's all part of being pregnant. Having diarrhea may have a lot to do with what your eating. Try changing your diet and eat healthier. That's no reason to be induced, i'm sure they would think your a Little nuts and will tell you it's too soon for the baby to be born. Also induced labor only makes labor worse.

You can ask for anything you want.....but you aren't likely to get an induction for those reasons.
First off.....36 weeks is still a premie. Baby needs to be at least 37 weeks to be considered full term.
Second - Having loose stools this late in pregnancy is pretty common. Having back pain is pretty common. Those aren't medical reasons for induction. Being induced makes labor harder and brings on increased risks. You may be uncomfortable now, but that's not a reason to accept greater risks to you and baby in labor.
Third - Are you doing anything for the back pain? Try doing pelvic rocking. Try seeing a massage therapist or a chiropractor. MT and chiro will also help get your body in balance which will make labor easier when it comes.

Probably not. If you DO get too uncomfortable, some doctors will test for lung devoplment at 37 weeks and if all is okay, they may induce you. Most doctors prefer you wait until baby decides to come on his own (unless you go over 2 weeks late). 36 weeks is too early, the baby is not considered full term yet, the only way a doctor would do that is if something was medically wrong.

back pain and diarrhea could be signs of labor. i would call your obgyn and get in to get checked out. at 36 weeks the babies lungs my not be fully matured and if he or she is born now he/she may require additional help with breathing and could be at risk for infections and such. doctors have to follow strict protocols when it comes to induction. if your life or the babies is not in any jeopardy then they will not induce. hang in there! it's almost over. in the mean time get plenty of rest and fluids and definitely try to get in to see your doctor asap.
and by the way, if you are not ready to deliver (your cervix is not dilated and the baby is not moving down the birth canal) induction is really not a good idea it can cause many problems. usually women are induced due to high blood pressure, or when they are full term or over due and tests show the baby may not be tolerating life in the whom. check out this link.

You can request it ... but, I highly doubt that the doctor will allow induction. A woman's life has to be in jeopardy, in most cases, to necessitate an induction. Have you looked into the reason/s of why you have diarrhea? Maybe it can be resolved quite easily.

oh my gosh no.
I have diarrhoea and constipation which tears me, i have intense sciatic pains in my whole back legs and stomach but i wouldn't use that as an excuse to evict my baby early.
36 weeks your baby will be tiny and who knows what complications could arise, i know because my 1st and 2nd came at 35 weeks due to complications, why would you want your baby to have risks just because your having bowel issues.
You can get medicines for diarrhoea, talk to your OB he can tell you what to do. But getting an induction just because of those two things is wrong - keep baking that baby girl you're nearly there : )

Probably not. The doctor won't induce you unless he feels that the baby is ready or there is some complication that is putting the mother or the baby at risk and that risk is worse than the risk of premature birth. The lungs are the last thing to develop. You don't want to have the baby early if you can help it.

At 36 weeks you are not full term. There is no amount of diarreah or discomfort that would make me risk my child's health.
You need to speak with your dr about getting relief for the diarreah and try some yoga or exercises to relieve back pressure. I prefer getting on all four's and rocking back and forth for 15-20min. Looks stupid but in the end the baby is no longer pressing on your backbone.

You can always request anything you want, but ultimately, it's up to your OB to decide what will be best for you and your baby's health. Speak with your OB about the back pain and the diarrhea to see if they suggest anything to ease it. I doubt they'd induce any earlier than 38 weeks though.
Good luck and hope you feel better soon!!
